Oh Canada - Paul Schrader

Anyone else see this yet? Just got back from a screening, would love to see some discussion but not finding much here.

Personally, I thought it was probably the emptiest movie I've seen this year. There's nothing here. Felt like a film school experiment; I understand what Schrader was going for with the disjointed narrative, but there just wasn't any substance to hang the concept on.

Richard Gere plays a dying filmmaker who wants to tell his life story, but can't. Dies. Cue maudlin take on the Canadian national anthem, roll credits

An incredibly long 95 minutes.

Maybe I missed something? My friend and I were 2 of 4 people in the theatre and it totally lost both of us, would love to hear some other opinions.
