Scatmam Crothers’ talk with Danny in the kitchen is just brilliant. Everything about his performance is just sublime. I remember people laughing in the theater when the movie first opened. I thought it was a horrible take on the book. It took me multiple viewings to realize the magic of Jack’s performance and Stanley’s directing.
