Which villain was so well written you almost rooted for them?

I was watching a movie recently and caught myself almost rooting for the villain. Not that they were cool but bc their motives and perspective felt so believable and real. It got me thinking some of the best villains aren’t just evil, they’re complex enough to make us question whose side we’re on. Which movie villain was written so well that you found yourself empathizing with them, even just for a moment?
