Admittedly I've more kept up with recent releases as opposed to the classics, but a recent film I really enjoyed was Uncut Gems for how much it felt as though it had that kind of 'grit' that I feel is missing from a lot of modern movies; you can really tell it's made by people who know the environment they're shooting in and all of the details really make it feel like a very lived in, 'alive' place.
What are some other films with a really great sense of 'place' to them?
