Kid appropriate movies where bad guys win?

My son recently said he’s getting tired of movies where the good guys always win. He’s curious about stories where the bad guys win or at least don’t lose completely. I realized most kids’ movies play it pretty safe. Are there any age-appropriate films where the villain comes out on top or the ending isn’t so clean? Not looking for horror or anything truly dark—just something with a little more edge or ambiguity. Animated, live-action, fantasy—open to all suggestions. Thanks
