Can you name anyone who carries on Buster Keatons legacy more than Jackie Chan?

My wife and I got into a bit of an argument tonight, we are watching Woody Allen’s film Sleeper which is clearly inspired by Keaton, Chaplin and Harold Loyd.

I stated that what these men pulled off was a lost artform, something that may have inspired but never again pulled off at that level till Jackie Chan’s work.

She couldn’t beleive that such an artform would lay dormant for so long, but I can’t recall anyone who had strived for or reached such heights for half a century after their work. Of course there are homages and recognition, but until Jackie Chan and even after I can’t think of anyone who has attempted such physical comedy combined with stunts all performed by the star.

Do y’all agree with me or am I mistaken? Can you recall anyone else who performed on such a level without stunt men?
