I've been absolutely mesmerised by Watership Down (1978) and When the Wind Blows (1986)!
What fascinates me most is how these films juxtapose their soft, storybook-like artstyle with the grim realities they depict. The contrast between beauty and despair seems to reflect a deeper commentary on life itself: even in the midst of chaos or impending doom, there can be moments of grace, vulnerability, and even hope.
I would love to hear your film recommendations - especially classics. Which are your favourites and why?
