There was always something bugging me when it came to the remakes made in the 80s from 50s movie
That being the way people say the 50s movies rely on the story and the 80s version on the SFX
The Blob, The Thing, The Fly, Little Shop of Horrors
I watched all versions and its really untrue
Like The Thing From Another World 1951, its hum good i guess but beside the guy and his girlfriend i can't recall a single thing from the movie, on the other hand, beside the creature, i can recall every character, how different and memorable they are. And talking about the creature, i feel a creature that can be invisible and infect anybody is way more interresting and scary than a 7 foot bumbling frankenstein looking alien
The Blob is on par
The Fly is a though one but the scientist descending to hell as his transformation goes on is a real input to the story in the 1986 version is as good and suspenceful
Little Shop of Horrors is easy the 1960 version is charming and simple and the 1986 version is an improvemebt in every way submitted by /u/SouthboundTL
