Who is a director that makes great films, but doesn't necessarily have a distinct style?

Nearly all of the greatest directors had or have their own flair/directorial style where one could watch one of their movies and be able to identify the director through that style. Whether that be a certain visual style, an identifiable way of writing, specific themes found in their work, etc.
