Went in with extremely low expectations but Lady Bird really is one of the best movies I’ve seen.

I know I’m extremely late to the party but I just have to put this out there that Lady Bird was one of the best movies I’ve watched.

I was chilling around after smoking and decided I wanted something to put on as just some good background noise but for the first time in a long time my attention span was magically renewed. I went in with low expectations just cause tbh I was expecting it to be some artsy film that would leave me with more questions than answers but truly I was so satisfied with everything that even if I had questions they instantly left my mind.

Every scene felt so real like even though as a man I have no idea what it feels like to be a woman growing up and experiencing the world it still felt so relatable and so real like we were truly being invited into someone’s home and personal life.

The scene that personally hit me the hardest was when Danny expressed his fear of coming out like it took me right back to some of the worst feelings I’ve had which while not a great feeling it really opened my eyes to how shared a lot of experiences and feelings can be. Especially at such a young age where you feel like the world is against you(or at least that’s how I felt). Also, the final scene where Christine calls her mom and thanks her, I was just a sobbing mess.

Truly, Bravo to Greta Gerwig. I now understand all the hype. submitted by /u/ExchangeTrick317
